Robotics

Humanoid robots go into series production

2026 is the year humanoid robots leave the lab. Tesla is planning tens of thousands of Optimus units, manufacturers like Unitree, Agibot and Figure AI are scaling production, and prices are moving toward the range of a mid-size car for the first time.

The first deployments are in factories and logistics centers, but the real change comes afterwards: bipedal machines built for environments made for humans, stairs, doors, workbenches. For hospitality, retail and care, this becomes real in the coming years.

Agentic AI: AI that doesn't just answer, but acts

The chatbot was just the beginning. AI agents now handle multi-step tasks on their own: they research, plan, book, write code and coordinate with other agents, without a human triggering every step.

For companies, the question shifts from „How do we use ChatGPT?" to „Which processes do we hand to agents, and how do we keep control?" Whoever starts testing agent workflows in 2026 builds the head start that makes the difference in two years.

The digital product passport becomes mandatory

Sustainability moves from a nice-to-have to measurable infrastructure. With the EU's digital product passport, from 2026/2027 it will be documented step by step what products are made of, where they come from and how they can be repaired and recycled, starting with batteries, with further product groups to follow.

For companies this is more than a compliance task: whoever makes their supply chain transparent early gains trust with customers and partners, and is prepared when the recommendation becomes a requirement.
