Breathing guidance you feel in your hand
moonbird is a palm-sized device that slowly expands and contracts again. You hold it in your hand and follow the movement: breathe in as it grows, breathe out as it shrinks. The guidance works through touch alone — no screen, no sound, no distraction.
An optical PPG sensor on the contact surface measures heart rate and heart rate variability while you breathe. The companion app turns that into a visible picture of what a session does to your body and tunes the pace to you. The device works without the app all the same: switch it on, hold it, breathe.
Use cases
Makes stress regulation tangible instead of theoretical: participants feel what a breathing exercise does within two minutes — and then see it as a heart rate and HRV curve in the app.
A counterweight to a day full of screens. The guidance runs through the hand and needs neither sound nor eye contact — it works even while the conversation next door carries on.
A device to pass around that carries its idea without explanation: anyone who has held it once understands what sets tactile technology apart from yet another app.
