The Challenge.

Where we started.

How can existing processes be optimised through innovative technologies? How can ideas for process optimisation be generated intrinsically by employees? How can many different technologies be tested without a large investment and research effort?

What we
did.

TECH FLAT provides the newest technologies for generating ideas. That lets employees spot and eliminate inefficient processes by replacing outdated methods with technical innovation. Only once TECH FLAT is in place do old procedures get questioned and rethought.

Uncovering inefficient processes and sources of error in order to find solutions for them afterwards. Nobody can do that better than the people involved in those processes day after day.

Every successful innovation process begins with a phase of idea generation. For that, TECH FLAT delivers the newest gadgets to eins energie every quarter, matched to the energy sector. On site, employees can test these technologies. Testing them independently gives rise to many different ideas for internal use.

With the help of TECH FLAT, many new employee ideas have already been put into practice. Various processes are now supported by VR and AR headsets, for example. Employee training, displaying 3D models, improving occupational safety – VR and AR have a broad spectrum of applications.

The DJI Phantom Pro drone proved that sometimes a single gadget is enough to bring about major change. Maintenance work that used to be laborious could be handled easily with the DJI Phantom. In the past, spotting changes to various power lines early required a helicopter including a camera operator. Maintaining the heating plants was also done in a laborious and dangerous way, because employees had to climb the plant. Drone flights made it possible to optimise these processes. That does not only save costs in the long term. It also improved worker safety.

What it
achieved.

Process optimisation allowed eins energie to save a great deal of budget in the long term. Many processes were also improved in terms of sustainability. Optimisation could be identified and developed directly by the employees involved. No major investment was needed, because the technologies were only purchased after successful testing in practice.
