China no longer copies technology, it sets the pace. To see that with our own eyes, we traveled with a delegation of German decision-makers for a week through the country's innovation centers: Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Beijing.
The Solution.
What we made
of it.
In Shenzhen, the hardware capital of the world, the program included a visit to the Huawei campus, a district of its own for research and development. Plus electronics markets where an idea becomes a product in days, and a look at a depth of manufacturing found nowhere else.
In Hangzhou, Unitree Robotics welcomed us: humanoid robots and robot dogs not as a trade-show demo but live in action, to touch, try and question. These are exactly the moments that separate a report from real understanding.
Beijing combined network and perspective: conversations with founders and experts on site, plus the view from the Great Wall, a moment that makes the scale of the country tangible.
