Candy Dash: software we own.
Since 2026 we build our company software ourselves, with Claude Code, in weeks instead of months. Candy Dash, Proposal, Expenses, Travel and HR run in our own cloud, behind our own VPN. Monday, Personio and other subscriptions: cancelled.
The Challenge.
What if we just build our tools ourselves?
Standard software forces companies into someone else's processes: you adapt to the tool, pay per head per month, and still never get exactly what you need.
AI-assisted development flips that math: building your own is no longer a mega-project. The question is no longer whether you can afford it, but whether you can afford to skip it.
Three requirements came on top for us: the data stays in-house. The tools mesh. And running them doesn't become a new full-time job.
The Solution.
We build our
software ourselves.
Every company piles up SaaS subscriptions over the years: one for project management, one for HR, one for travel, one for proposals. Each makes sense on its own, together they're expensive, disconnected and never quite fit your processes.
Since 2026 we've run a new IT strategy: we build our company software ourselves, with Claude Code and vibe coding. What used to be a months-long development project now takes days to weeks, built by the people who live the process every day.
The result is called Candy Dash: our own small cloud of modules that map our workflows exactly, on our own infrastructure, secured over our own VPN channel. And on the side it's our most honest case study: we don't recommend anything to clients that we don't do ourselves.
The Modules
Five tools,
one system.
Each module solves exactly one process. And they all mesh, because they were built under one roof.
The hub: projects, tasks and capacity in one place, tailored to how we work, not to a generic board model.
From inquiry to proposal: building blocks, prices and copy from one system, consistent, fast, no copy-paste from old documents.
Capture, assign and approve receipts, in a process that fits our accounting. Not the other way around.
Plan and settle innovation journeys and client meetings: who goes where, what it costs, what's booked, one glance is enough.
Leave, absences, onboarding, team data: the HR processes of a mid-sized company, without per-head license costs.
Our entire tech arsenal captured digitally: every gadget, every robot, every cable, with availability, checkout and packing lists for events and the TECH FLAT.
Everything runs on our own infrastructure, secured over our own VPN channel. Our data never leaves the house, no subscription, no vendor in between.
Insights
that stick.
With AI-assisted development a small team builds in weeks what used to need external developers and months. The effort shifts: away from coding, toward thinking.
Our modules take shape where the work happens, not in a requirements spec. Change requests don't land in a vendor's ticket backlog, they're live the same day.
Cancelled SaaS licenses are just the visible effect. The real win: the data stays in-house, and the processes follow us, not a vendor's feature set.
Own tools instead of subscription sprawl?
