New technologies and new working methods are changing today's world of work for good. New Work demands a rethink in people's minds. Structures that will soon shape our daily lives have to be put to the test in the present. The experience in AR / VR offers an innovative approach to what future work can look like. AR and VR technologies are used to create digital spaces in which photorealistic avatars can exchange ideas with one another. Creative formats in particular benefit from the simulated closeness and the directional audio of the avatars.
Digitalisation is moving further and further into the foreground. The task is to explore which technologies and practices make the most sense for everyday work. The experience in AR / VR is one solution concept for the topic of NEW WORK.
Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA did not want to miss this exciting approach either. The focus was on developing selected employees on the topic of "workshops in AR and VR", who would then carry their new knowledge into the company as experts. Following the "train the trainer" principle, Bertelsmann employees went through holistic training from FUTURE CANDY on running creative sessions in AR and VR. This training covered how to generate spaces in AR or VR, create avatars and connect them with one another. The functions of the virtual applications were put to use in the format of a Sustainability Journey. Here Bertelsmann employees used the full range of the digital application to create virtual mood boards on sustainability. They then built up knowledge of the UN's 17 sustainable development goals, identified their own personal goals and generated ideas on how to align personal values with those of the company.
An exciting format, with plenty of laughter, discussion, presentation and constructive challenge.
