Data protection

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy. Using our website is generally possible without providing personal data. Where personal data (for example name, address or email addresses) is collected on our pages, this is always done on a voluntary basis as far as possible. If you wish to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you consent to receiving the newsletter. No further data is collected. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties. You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the email address and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the „unsubscribe" link in the newsletter.

Google Analytics 4 – audience measurement

We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google Analytics uses cookies to analyse how our website is used – for example which pages are opened, how long they are read and which source visitors come from. We use Google Analytics exclusively with IP anonymisation enabled; your IP address is truncated by Google within the EU before it is processed.

Google Analytics is only loaded after you have explicitly consented to the “Statistics” category in the cookie banner. Without that consent no script is loaded from Google and no data is transmitted to Google. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG.

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. On withdrawal we stop collection immediately and delete the cookies set by Google Analytics. Alternatively you can install the browser add-on to disable Google Analytics: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Using Google services may involve a transfer of data to the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Usage data in Google Analytics is retained for a maximum of 14 months. Further information on data protection at Google: policies.google.com/privacy

Formspree – contact forms

To process contact forms on our website we use the service Formspree (Formspree Inc., USA). When you fill in and submit a contact form, the data you enter (name, email, message, etc.) is transmitted to and processed on Formspree's servers. Formspree forwards the form data to us by email. The processing of form data is based on your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and is necessary for the performance of a contract or for pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), in particular to respond to your enquiry. Brevo – newsletter and email marketing

To send our newsletter and for marketing purposes we use the service Brevo (Brevo GmbH, Germany). When you subscribe to our newsletter or fill in a contact form, your email address and possibly further data is transmitted to Brevo. Brevo stores this data in order to send you newsletters and to track your interactions (opens, clicks, unsubscribes). Processing is based on your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or via your Brevo control center. After unsubscribing, your data is archived and later deleted, unless statutory retention obligations exist. Brevo processes data in accordance with applicable data protection regulations and has standard contractual clauses in place for international data transfers. Lead context tracking – visit history and lead context

On this website we use our own client-side tracking system (lead context tracking) to record your visit history and your interests. The system stores the following information locally in your browser (sessionStorage and localStorage, no cookies):

This data is stored exclusively locally in your browser and not transmitted to external servers, with the exception of the contact forms: when you fill in a form, this data is automatically entered into the hidden fields of the form and sent together with your entries. This allows us to better understand the context of your enquiry (e.g. which product area interested you, how you arrived at the website). The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in better customer care and understanding visitor intentions. You can disable this tracking at any time by clearing the local storage in your browser (deleting localStorage/sessionStorage).

Privacy notice for the use of Facebook plugins

Plugins of the social network Facebook, provider Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA, are integrated on our pages. You can recognize the Facebook plugins by the Facebook logo or the „Like" button on our page. An overview of the Facebook plugins can be found here: developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins. When you visit our pages, the plugin establishes a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. Facebook thereby receives the information that you have visited our page with your IP address. Privacy notice for the use of YouTube

Some of our pages embed videos from the YouTube platform. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We use YouTube in extended data protection mode (embedded via „youtube-nocookie.com“) and only load videos once you actively click the video preview (two-click solution). Simply opening the page transmits no data to YouTube; the preview images are stored locally on our server. Only when you click the preview is a connection to YouTube’s servers established – YouTube then receives the information that you visited the relevant page with your IP address. The legal basis is your consent, given through the active click (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Privacy notice for the use of Acast

On individual pages we offer podcast episodes via the hosting service Acast. The provider is Acast AB, Kungsgatan 28, 111 35 Stockholm, Sweden. The audio file is only loaded once you actively start playback – simply opening the page transmits no data to Acast. When playback starts, a connection to Acast’s servers is established; Acast then receives the information that you visited our page with your IP address. SSL encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as the enquiries you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the browser address bar changing from „http://" to „https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser bar. When SSL encryption is enabled, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Right to information, deletion, blocking

You have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing, as well as a right to rectification, blocking or deletion of this data. Objection to promotional emails

We hereby object to the use of contact data published within the framework of the imprint obligation for sending advertising and information materials not expressly requested.
