Midjourney: Threat and Gold Mine

Midjourney: Threat and Gold Mine

AI and machine learning remain the driving forces in the innovation world. For a while now, not only shorter articles but also longer academic papers can be generated automatically from a short text prompt, for example with ChatGPT. But Midjourney goes a step further: the AI platform uses machine-learning algorithms and taps into vast amounts of data to create a wide range of images from users' text prompts, from fictional characters to deepfakes that are barely distinguishable from reality.

Best case: the AI-designed work "Théâtre D'opéra Spatial" by Jason Allen, which won first place in the digital category of the Colorado State Fair.

What's it all for?

With the platform, CEO David Holz wants to give the "ordinary person" a tool to freely unfold their creativity even without artistic talent. Every generated illustration is unique, which makes Midjourney a first-class tool not just for personal use but also for companies.

More than just a gimmick

Midjourney's applications are diverse and appear across many industries. With the help of the AI, startups can develop a logo, corporate design or creative marketing content, without investing much know-how, time or money. The same applies to use in the marketing industry, where resources can now be spent elsewhere.

One example of Midjourney in marketing would be creating creative content like graphics, illustrations or logos for startups or small companies without their own design team. By using the AI platform, they can produce high-quality content quickly and cost-efficiently, improving their online presence.

Another example would be using Midjourney to create ad campaigns. Here, agencies can quickly and easily generate creative ideas and designs, then integrate them into their campaigns. This saves time and resources and lets them run their campaigns faster and more effectively.

Midjourney can also be used in social-media marketing to create appealing, attention-grabbing images and graphics that boost user engagement and thus increase the reach of posts.

Creativity at the push of a button?

With Midjourney, anyone, even without creative talent, can bring their visions to life in pictures.

At the FUTURE CANDY networking event Tech2gether, guests from a wide range of industries could try Midjourney and give their imagination free rein.
